Not one person noticed that the "shelter" had windows in it! Everyone says interior room of your home AWAY from doors and windows....lol. And if it's not the state or city's responsibility for safety why do we have police forces and State swat teams. DUH

Why does anyone in texas and oklahoma need to call 311 to get ahold of the tulsa mayors office but austin texas does not? On may 10, 2024?

All full of love and praise after the tragedy. Grandstanding how us good ol’ boys come together to pray and help one another but this is truly where the rubber hits the road. A good example of why I left and didn’t look back at my little Midwest town.

Personally my fear of them didn't start because of IT, tbh I'm not sure why it started. Even at 27 I still get stiff and shakey if I see a clown in person. They're the only thing I'm afraid of though.

I saw this tornado on the news on that day, I didn’t think it was that bad until the day after! There was a tornado that came a mile from me at around 11:00 at night. It only knocked some power lines down but still crazy

For people who don't understand, most public shelters don't accept animals. Animals can be unpredictable in emergencies, some people are allergic and space is limited. Not everyone has a shelter or safe space in their homes. Not everyone is in the same circumstance or type of home as you. Warnings often come late and when it's at night, people often don't hear them or there simply isn't time. Especially true if you have children or elderly with you. Have any of you been through this? If it were an ideal circumstance, yes, crate your pets, take them to your shelter or safe space if you can. But these situations often drag on, on and off, for hours if not days. That's simply not always feasible. If it were ideal, it wouldn't be a tornado.
